SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR POOR MERITORIOUS STUDENTS, BARICHARA, DHAKA

The Scholarship program for poor meritorious students is aimed at providing financial aid to meritorious but poor students from remote rural areas of Bangladesh who otherwise would be unable to continue their higher studies due to financial hardship. Students are screened and selected from the list prepared by Daily Newspapers of extraordinary performances of very poor meritorious students from remote rural areas. These students have received a GPA of 5 in their SSC or HSC exams.
This program was undertaken by Gulshan Rotary Club. However, due to lack of funding, they were not able to support all of the candidates who were identified. With BACHAO’s assistance, Rotary Club of Gulshan has been able to extend the scholarship to additional meritorious students from remote rural areas.
